In focus: the Tesab 700i and 700ie

Renowned for being a specialist in this industry, Tesab is an expert in providing exceptional quality and reliability with its products. Their Tesab 700i Tracked Jaw Crusher highlights this.

Having taken key design elements from previous models to improve maneuverability onsite and during transportation, the 700i Jaw Crusher still delivers the same high performance and user-friendly design. And now has a hybrid-electric model, the Tesab 700ie, to further improve on fuel and cost efficiency.

We spoke with our Materials Handling Manager, Paul Toulouse, about this model, its key benefits, and its applications.

The Jaw Crusher Market in 2023 - Where does the 700i fit in?

Like many other heavy equipment industries, the rising cost of fuel and energy has caused those who own and operate crushers to consider how efficient their machinery is, alongside its overall productivity. This change has meant increased innovations such as the 700ie Hybrid Electric Jaw Crusher have become increasingly popular, as many industries look to reduce their long-term operating costs on machinery.

Moreover, the industry has seen an increased demand for Crushers which are easy to maintain and more reliable. A crusher with less downtime due to more robust parts and more accessible access points for regular maintenance creates a more user-friendly and reliable machine. This forms the backbone of the design philosophy for the 700i – to create a high-performance Jaw Crusher for a variety of applications, that is fuel-efficient, and user-friendly throughout every moment of ownership.

“I can see how the industry is changing,” said Paul. “It’s fair to say everyone is feeling the effects of rising costs, and this industry is no different. There will always be a focus on the productivity and reliability of machines, but now, our customers are looking at fuel usage and ownership costs even more. “

Key Features:

The 700i and 700ie have been designed with several innovative features, however, some standout ones include:

  • Up to 350TPH - Designed with a new feeder and large hopper, this allows for higher throughput, while still retaining reliability.

  • 2 Deck Independent Pre-screen – As a standard feature on this model of Jaw crusher, Tesab has ensured the quality of the end-products remains high, as well as reducing wear and tear on the machine.

  • Hybrid Electric power system – New and available on the Tesab 700ie. This allows the 700ie to produce the same output with less than 20 litres of fuel used per hour, while in hybrid mode. With the added option that the 700ie can be run fully electric from an industrial mains supply. Also, the genset (engine) can be lifted off the crusher and sited to power another appliance on site, utilising the full potential of the 700ie.

  • Auto Block Reverse Jaw – In the event of a material blockage, the 700ie jaw can be reversed. This enables quick and safe clearing of material with minimal production downtime.

Paul told us “The improvements made to this model should help our customers reduce their running costs and fuel usage while maintaining high productivity and a great quality end product. It’s crucial that we can help our customers reduce these in any way we can, without sacrificing the performance of the machine.”

What Industries are suitable for the 700i and 700ie Jaw Crusher?

The Tesab 700i and 700ie are comfortable in a variety of industries due to their exceptional levels of versatility. Already, we are seeing the machine being used in many applications with high-performance results across the board. These proven Jaw Crushers will perform in industries such as:

  • Aggregates

  • Construction

  • Demolition

  • Recycling

Paul added “The 700i and 700ie have been designed to be easy to transport and easy to set up. This makes them great for many industries.”

Is it right for me?

The Tesab 700i and 700ie can be fed as a standalone primary crusher unit or integrated into a system of Tesab secondary crushers and Screeners (train), and so are suitable for many contractors. Our specialists at Stewart Plant Sales are available to provide recommendations based on your requirements and applications, along with a full set-up.

“We always aim to provide the best recommendations and service for our customers, based on their current set-ups, and give them what will be best for them in the long run. Whether it operates as a primary standalone unit or fits into their current setup,” Paul commented.
